On this web page you find a database of meta-information about 103 argument quality datasets, systematized into 32 columns. The database was developed in the context of the publication “Towards a Perspectivist Turn in Argument Quality Assessment” by Julia Romberg, Maximilian Maurer, Henning Wachsmuth and Gabriella Lapesa, to appear at NAACL 2025 (preprint: https://arxiv.org/abs/2502.14501).
We provide you with the consolidation of covered argument quality categories into an overarching taxonomy, and with detailed information on (a) the datasets, (b) who the annotators are, and (c) who the argument producers are.
In the side bar, you find the Taxonomy page, which contains the overarching taxonomy of argument quality categories along with their definitions. Additionally, you find the Column Descriptions page, which contains a detailed description of the database keys. Finally, you also find a handy Small Description of Keys, for those columns of the database, for which the naming may not be self-explanatory.
The fields in the database can be searched and filtered, so that one can easily get a subset of studies.
